Built in 1890, the Inn was originally known as the Onondaga until 1934, when it was purchased and subsequently renamed Foley's North Woods Inn. In 1958, fire destroyed the main lodge. The rest of the facility remained open that year and the main lodge was rebuilt between 1958 1960. The North Woods has continued in operation since that time. In 1998 the entire facility was completely renovated and is now a year round 4 season Resort and Conference Center.

Jim and Diane Connerty purchased the North Woods Inn in December 2004 and it is still evolving as a premier locale in the Central Adirondacks.

North Woods Inn can offer Multi- Day packages with Old Forge Lake Cruises, Raquette Lake Navigation Co., the Adirondack Scenic Railroad, Great Camp Sagamore, Adirondack Museum, Thendara and Inlet Golf Courses, Mountain Man Outdoor Supply, Adirondack River Outfitters, Guided Fishing, hiking and camping trips, horse back riding, skiing, snowmobiling and mountain biking, business meetings, Conferences, team building events and retreats. Banquets, Weddings, Anniversary Parties, Family Reunions, Birthday Parties, Bus and Boat Trips and Theater groups and lectures. We are a great place for a brainstorming session or training session. For groups looking for a place to stop for breakfast, lunch, or dinner we can accommodate you with advanced reservations too. Just give us a call any time of year. We have 2 restaurants one for lunch and dinner and the other for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Both restaurants over look the lake. We also have a Mountain View conference room that can accommodate up to 60 people.

We can coordinate events with various attractions and locations from Adirondack Railroad in Thendara or Utica, New York Station to North Creek Railroad in North Creek. We will coordinate boat tours, shopping, museum trips and any other event or locale you may like to visit. From Ski, snowmobile and snowshoe rentals, winter getaway packages, to summer fun in the sun getaways, educational tours, church, senior clubs and groups to school groups. Enjoy a getaway package to the Adirondack Mountains. We work with the Old Forge Lake Cruises and Raquette Lake Navigation Company as well as Adirondack Receptive Services to set up tours and other activities.
